Obituary of Aneda Galvez
On November 26, 1927, the world welcomed a most beautiful soul, Aneda Ortega, who would, one day, become Aneda Ortega Galvez. She entered by way of Kennedy, New Mexico into the arms of her mother, Rita Ortega and her father, Luciano Ortega. At home, to welcome her, were her brothers (Delfido, Kino, Tim) and sisters (Margaret, Mary, Elisa, Josie); and soon to follow were sisters (Lila and Molly). After a very happy childhood in Lamy, New Mexico, she moved to Oregon for several years then moved to Stockton, CA where she met her future husband, Luciano Galvez. They were married in 1944 at St. Francis Cathedral in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They would be married for 54 years until Luciano passed away in 1998.
In 1946, they welcomed their daughter, Effie Delores, into their lives. After several years in Stockton the family moved to Gridley where she enjoyed her life as mother and homemaker. In 1956, Aneda and her family moved to their new home in Live Oak. While in Live Oak, she enjoyed helping many friends and families whom she had befriended.
In 1977, Aneda and her husband moved to Yuba City where they would live out the rest of their lives. Aneda enjoyed her many hobbies such as quilting, crocheting, making rosaries and raising houseplants. She was a very devoted Catholic and during her early years in Yuba City, she joined the Legion of Mary at St. Isidore Catholic Church.
Aneda adored the little Chihuahua dogs she had as pets. Each little dog that she had during her life was given much love and attention and were fortunate to be in her care.
Aneda was a beautiful and wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was blessed to have so many good friends whom she considered extended family. She will truly be missed by those who loved and knew her. Aneda was surrounded by her family when she left this world on March 3, 2023.
Aneda Ortega Galvez is survived by her daughter Effie Cavazos (Joe), grandson Joey Cavazos (Shelby), granddaughter Gina Cuevas (Tony), great-granddaughters Adriana Cuevas, Sydney Cavazos, Veronica Cuevas, and Emery Cavazos. We love you Aneda, Mamma, Grama, Nana. We'll miss you.
Visitation will take place at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, Yuba City 5:00 p.m. March 14, 2023 followed by a rosary 6:00 p.m. A Catholic mass will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church March 15, 2023, 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place immediately after at the Live Oak Cemetery.
