Obituary

Obituary of Lovie Bryan "LB" Miller Jr.
Lovie Bryan "LB" Miller, Jr., age 80, of Yuba City, California, passed peacefully into eternal glory May 26, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Barbara Sue Miller, his daughter Jennifer Rene Mank and his son Lovie Bryan Miller III.
LB was born to Lovie Bryan Miller and Helen Ruth Miller on January 28, 1942, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. The family moved back-and-forth between California and Oklahoma several times before making their permanent residence in Yuba City, CA, in 1950.
LB was employed at Shan's hamburger stand while attending Yuba City School, and upon graduating in 1959, at 17 years of age, enlisted in the United States Air Force. His service to his country began December 2nd, 1959, and took him to many different locales including Biloxi, MS., Thule, Greenland and Amarillo, TX. During his service, LB made the rank of Airman First Class E-4 before being honorably discharged from active-duty service on October 1st, 1963.
While in Texas, LB met and was briefly married to Connie Lamm-Strickland who gave birth to their daughter Michelle Miller, of Jefferson City, Missouri.
Shortly after returning home from his military service, it happened at the Kabuki Lounge in Yuba City. That's where Barbara Sue McRee and LB Miller, Jr. first laid eyes on one another. The rest, as they say, is history. LB and Barbara were married on February 18th, 1966, and remained together until his passing. At the urging of his very patient wife, LB gave his heart to the LORD which was followed in baptism on August 13th, 1978, at Calvary Temple (now Calvary Christian Center) in Yuba City.
When LB began his employment at Sutter Farm Chemicals, his employer, Ben Hamilton, gave him the nickname "Moldy", because when God made LB, he broke the mold. LB held many agricultural licenses and served the surrounding farming communities for 25 years.
After his tenure at Sutter Farm Chemicals, he worked in residential home construction for Interwest Homes and Takhar Development as well as managing other real estate development projects. LB finally retired after many years of fleet service sales at Larry Geweke Ford, Yuba City.
LB liked to go fast. He loved his hot rod cars and drag boats. He was also a true cowboy at heart and lived the cowboy lifestyle. He raised a herd, participated in cattle drives, trained Border Collie cow dogs, and bred paint horses. He believed in old-school values such as, "Only buy what you can pay for." And "If you borrow something, return it better than you found it."
LB is preceded in death by his father, Lovie Bryan Miller; his mother, Helen Ruth Miller; his brother, Jack Miller; his sister, Doris Augustine; and his brother, Dean Miller.
LB is survived by his wife, Barbara Sue Miller of Yuba City, CA; his daughters, Jennifer Rene Mank of Yuba City and Michelle Miller of Jefferson City, MO; his son, Lovie Bryan Miller III of Yuba City; his sisters, Linda Piva of Yuba City, Eilene Troncatty of Roseville; his brothers, Felix Miller and Roy Miller, both of Yuba City; his brother, Troy Miller of Bozeman, MT; his youngest brother, Shawn Miller of Sonoma, CA; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service for all family and friends will be held at the Sutter Cemetery, June 3rd, 2022, at 1:00 pm, with a time of gathering and remembrance to follow at Hope Point Church of the Nazarene, 600 N George Washington, Yuba City, CA.
