Obituary of Maria Guadalupe Ortiz

July 12, 1935 - April 28, 2022 We are heartbroken to announce the death of our mother, Maria Guadalupe Ortiz. She passed away peacefully at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family, she will be dearly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts. She was born July 12, 1935, in Mexico to Rosalva Guzman and Jose Maria Calatayud. She was a loving wife, mother of 4, grandmother of 16 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to 17 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Julia (Carroll) Peiffer of Yuba City; sons, Carlos (Peri) Ortiz of Yuba City, Elias Ortiz of Williams, and Gregorio Ortiz of Yuba City; brothers, Jose Maria Calatayud and Jorge Calatayud both of Mexico; and her sister, Leticia Echeverria of Dixon. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Maria Ortiz, and her loving grandson, Zachary Ortiz. Viewing will be at Ullrey Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 4-7, with Rosary at 6 pm. Services will be on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 10 am at Saint Isidore Catholic Church, interment will follow at Sutter Cemetery.
