Obituary of Marjie Ann Pelfrey
July 13, 1942 - September 15, 2022
Marjie Ann Pelfrey, a long-time resident of Yuba City, California, passed away at home surrounded by family on September 15, 2022. She was born to the late Louis and Nevelyn Long in Glenwood, Arkansas, on July 13, 1942.
Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Jack Pelfrey; two children, Ty Pelfrey wife Teresa of Wyoming; Clay Pelfrey wife Erin of Chico; sister, Marie Rogers husband Gene of Yuba City; and brother, Joe Long wife Sheila of Roseville. She is predeceased by her brother, Jim Long.
Marjie was an avid golfer. Yes, she even hit a hole in one! She enjoyed traveling and seeing new sites at home and abroad. She had many adventures in Europe and her experiences included everything from being dragged by turtles at the Great Barrier Reef to driving the backroads of all 50 states. At times Marjie was even known for having a lead foot. She had a fondness for nectarines and cultivating her blooming azaleas. She enjoyed sewing projects and if you were lucky enough to get one of her quilts, you know what we mean. She will be greatly missed!
Her preference was not to hold a formal memorial service, but a celebration of life will be held for family and friends.
