Obituary of Lt Colonel Thomas A. Casey

Lt. Colonel Thomas A. Casey said goodbye to his family on August 4, 2022. He was born in Sultan, Washington (pop. 800), and had a Tom Sawyer - Huckleberry Finn boyhood. After attending the University of Washington, he joined the Air Force in 1953, where he proudly served for 27 years. He flew in the B-47 and the SR-71. His second career was as a realtor-broker for 10 years. His third career was as CEO for Yuba City Refrigeration for another 10 years. An avid sportsman, he was proficient in many sports. He loved playing golf and was a member of Peach Tree Country Club. In his declining years, you would find him playing cribbage at Peach Tree with his buddies, Chuck Messick and John Weiler. Tom was a devoted, hands-on father to his children and a faithful sweetheart to his wife of 66 years, Jan. He always said, "You are the wind beneath my wings," and she to him, "You will always be my handsome young lieutenant." He was a gentleman and a man of great integrity. He is survived by his loving wife, Jan, his daughters, Judith Ann (Dave), Carolyn (Jason), son Thomas Jr. (Trish) and daughter Colleen (Jon), seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He requested a private family service. His oldest daughter, Judith Ann will conduct the service. Remembrances may be sent to Sutter Hospice or St. IsIdore Church. "Goodnight, sweet prince. And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
