Obituary of Jacquelyn Onstott

Jacquelyn (Esenman) Onstott, passed away peacefully at the Onstott Ranch on December 17, 2022. She was born December 11, 1923, in Marysville and just celebrated her 99th Birthday. Her parents were Lillian (Becker) Esenman and Paul George Esenman, prominent Marysville residents. Jackie attended Mary Covillaud Elementary School (originally known as Marysville Grammar School), graduated from Marysville High School and attended the University of Oregon, where she became a member of Delta Delta Delta Fraternity. Prior to attending the University of Oregon she was Worthy Advisor of Rainbow Girls. After finishing her education, Jackie worked as an executive assistant with Missouri Pacific Railroad in Sacramento. Jackie married the love of her life, Hobart Onstott, Jr., briefly moving to San Jose. Upon their return to Yuba City in 1959, she quickly turned her attention to rejuvenating the family home built by Hobie's uncle, Rennie Mahon, in 1922. The property is fondly known today as Onstott Ranch, where many memorable events have been held over the years. For Jackie and Hobie, the Onstott Ranch became a gathering place to create lifetime memories for generations to come. Beyond the ranch, Jackie was very active in the community. She was a charter member of Gamma Chapter, Alpha Sigma, and a member of the Rideout Hospital Auxiliary, Mercy Hospital Guild, President of Barry School PTA, Twin Cities Riding Club and Peach Tree Country Club. She also served on the Sutter County Grand Jury.
