Obituary of Roy C. Osterli ll

Roy C. Osterli II, 74, from Pleasant Grove, CA, known as Buzz by those who loved him, passed away on November 9, 2022, after a long journey with Lewy Body Dementia. Buzz was born December 4, 1947, in Sacramento to Roy and Viola Osterli. In his early years, Buzz loved scouting and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from East Nicolaus High School in 1966, and studied at American River College before joining the California Army National Guard. After his National Guard training, he returned to the family farm in Pleasant Grove where he raised rice, alfalfa, and other crops. Throughout his life, Buzz was a man of God who was devoted to his family and his community. Buzz was preceded in death by his mother, father, and older sister, Clarene. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sherry; his four children, Matt (Tiffany), Michelle, Annie (Chris), and Becky (Brad); 5 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Justin, Matthew, Anders and Karsten; one great-grandson, Caleb; three sisters, Merilyn, Irma and Missy; and many beloved nieces and nephews. A service is planned for Saturday, November 19, 2022, 10:00 am at Fairview Church in Trowbridge. Seating is limited. Following the service, a graveside memorial will be held at 12:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of Buzz's life on December 4, 2022, at 2:00 pm at The Country Retreat, 788 Striplin Rd., Nicolaus, CA.
