Obituary of Surinder Joshi

Surinder Joshi, 79, passed away on October 26, 2022, with his family by his side at Adventist Health and Rideout Hospital in Marysville. Surinder was born to Yash Pal Joshi and Shanti Devi Joshi on November 8, 1942, in Banga, Punjab. He was their fourth oldest child. As a child he was taught the importance of hard-work and the importance of family. Surinder worked with his friend Rick Wilbur for the past 67 years as a foreman. He loved farming from day one and talked about the walnut harvest until the very end. His hard work and values will live on through his children, grandkids and great grandkids for years to come. Surinder is survived by sons, Balraj Joshi (Akanksha); and Rajash Joshi (Renu) all of Yuba City, CA; son-in-law, Dinesh Sharda of San Jose, CA; brother, Raj Joshi of Yuba City, CA; and sisters, Raksha Sandhir of Yuba City, CA, and Kamlesh Sharda of Paducah, KY; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kanta Joshi; their daughter, Billie Sharda; his parents, Yash Joshi and Shanti Joshi; two brothers, Ramesh Joshi and Janak Joshi; and sister, Nirmala Chanan. Services will be on November 2, 2022, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond St., Yuba City, with final prayers at Sri Narayan Hindu Temple, 1829 Franklin Rd., Yuba City, beginning at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Sri Narayan Hindu Temple, 1829 Franklin Rd., Yuba City, CA, in his name.
