Joseph Henry Evans passed away after a decade long battle with cancer. Born in Okfuskie, OK (a town lost to the dust bowl) to Granville and Mable (Graham) Evans, he was a longtime Yuba-Sutter resident. He graduated Yuba City High in 1955, and became a tree service worker retiring from Cal-Trans' special crew. He trimmed trees and oleanders along state highways in summer, and removed snow on I-80 and Hwy. 89 in the winter. He was an avid SF 49ers and Giants fan.
He was preceded in death by his daughter JoLynn Ingram of Yuba City and all of his siblings, Granville Junior KIA over Germany in WWII, a sister Berdie of OK, James of Redding, Fred of Mena, AR, Ben of Yuba City, Everett of Yuba City and Simon of AZ.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lynda N. Evans (McDougle), sons Darcy J. Evans (Diane) of Natomas and John G. Evans of Olivehurst. Five grandchildren, Joey Ingram of Yuba City, Jessie Barrett of Meridian, Joshua Ingram of Yuba City and Raine and Zoe Evans of WA and one great-granddaughter Willow Ingram of Yuba City. Plus numerous nieces and nephews plus extended family.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Carlito's Restaurant, Yuba City.
