Obituary of Darrell Jay Sewell

Darrell Jay Sewell, passed away at the age of 68, on Friday, January 27, 2023, in Stanford, CA, with his daughter and son-in-law by his side. Darrell was born in Yuba City, CA, on January 8, 1955, and lived in Olivehurst his whole life. In his younger days he worked at the Yuba Placer Gold Fields for many years. He then became a certified Welder and Plumber; worked at Aerojet and then at All Phase Mechanical where he retired from. In his spare time, you could always find him hunting for deer and pigs, fishing, and camping. In his retirement years he enjoyed evening rides on his Harley visiting friends and family. He has always been an avid Nascar fan. His world revolved around his only daughter and his two grandchildren who he adored. He loved going to visit them often with a smoothie in hand. He was very close to all his siblings and enjoyed family get togethers. He is survived by his daughter, Trista Carter and son-in-law, Cale Carter of Sutter; two grandchildren, Jaycob and Charlotte Carter of Sutter; sisters, Linda Flynn of Olivehurst, and Sandy McCurry of Sutter; brothers, Austin Sewell and Woody Sewell both of Olivehurst; and blessed with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Arson Sewell and mother, Joyce Sewell of Olivehurst. Friends and family are invited to attend his service at Ullrey's Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond St., Yuba City, on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 10:00 am. Graveside services to follow at the Sutter Cemetery, 7200 Butte Ave, Sutter, and the Celebration of Life at the Sutter Youth Organization Center, 7740 Butte House Rd., Sutter.
