Obituary of Donald Marsinkavage
Donald Marsinkavage
Donald Michael Marsinkavage, passed away peacefully in his home, January 17, 2023, at the age of 88. A native of Blakely, Pennsylvania, his formative years were spent in Scranton, later he resided in New Mexico, and then settled in Santa Clara County for the past forty-five years.
Don served active duty in the U. S. Army for three years, two of which in Japan. He was a 1961 graduate of the University of Missouri, School of Mines and Metallurgy, Rolla, with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. His careers included Electrical Engineering, Marketing Manager, and in his final years a Financial Consultant.
Don was an avid skier and member of the National Ski Patrol. He enjoyed piloting his small plane, traveling, playing golf, working on his vehicles, and keeping track of the stock market. For Don, keeping in touch with various family members and friends throughout the United States was his biggest joy in life.
Don was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Frances (Shuklis) Marsinkavage and daughter, Lynda Chandler.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Barbara (nee Willson); daughters, Michelle (Douglas) Toland of Massachusetts, Carla McCauley of Colorado, and April Sawtelle of Texas; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; son-in-law Michael Chandler of Oregon; caregiver and sister-in-law Charlotte Willson of San Jose.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Elisabeci Nayacatabu for her devoted care. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Colusa, California on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 11 o'clock a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Glaucoma Research Foundation (www.glaucoma.org) or to the charity of their choice.
