Obituary of Gene Michael Accito

Gene Michael Accito, 68, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 13, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Gene was born on July 23, 1954, in Yuba City, CA. He was the youngest of five children of Frank and Viola Accito. As a child, Gene loved to work on the family farm and help with the family Christmas tree lot. As he grew older, he enjoyed playing sports, especially golf. Gene graduated from Sutter High School in 1972. Gene devoted his adult life to his family and work. He was a "jack of all trades": farmer, dispatcher, contractor, landlord and businessman who had great work ethic and a great sense of humor. Gene is survived by his loving wife, Diane Rossman Accito; his sons, Travis (Courtney) Groo and Don (Andrea) Wing; his sisters, Diane (Ray) Bull and Judy Mitchell; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his longtime friend and devoted employee, Gustavo (Adelina) Diaz, and his family. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Viola Accito; his brother, Frank "Jimmy" Accito; his sister, Mary Ann Luedemann; and his niece, Nicole Bull. Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond St., Yuba City, CA. Viewing will be on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 3-4pm for family and 4-6pm for the public. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 11am at Calvary Christian Center, 2620 Colusa Hwy., Yuba City, CA. Burial will follow at Sutter Cemetery, 7200 Butte Ave., Sutter, CA.
