JIMMY UYEMOTO OBITUARY
Jimmy I. Uyemoto, passed away on March 31, 2023, in Marysville, CA. He was born in Gridley, CA, on December 23, 1937, to Kanichi and Michiko Uyemoto. He resided in Yuba City, CA, at the time of his death. During the time of WWII he was interned at Camp Amache, Colorado with his parents and siblings. After the war, the family moved back to Yuba City where they were involved in farming.
After graduation from Yuba City High School, Jimmy took over the family farming, due to his father becoming disabled. Until his retirement, he raised canning tomatoes, prunes and peaches and worked in the rice warehouse as the manager. After his retirement, he enjoyed working in his garden raising vegetables and a few fruit trees in the backyard.
Jimmy also enjoyed serving the community through his membership in the Peach Bowl Lions Club for 40 years. He served as President in 1993-94. He was honored with numerous awards throughout his service. Jimmy was a member of the Buddhist Church of Marysville and was a past president.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Pat; son, Toby (Shylyn), and predeceased by his son, Brian (2020). He is also survived by his sisters, Mary, Jean, Terry (Tom), Diane (Gene), Cynthia (Art); brother, Kenny (Debbie); brother-in-law, Bert husband of sister, Lil (deceased); sister-in-law, Janet (Craig); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at the Buddhist Church of Marysville. 125 B Street, Marysville, CA. All friends are welcome to attend.
