Obituary of Michael Bakis

Michael Bakis, 89, of Yuba City, CA, passed away April 4, 2023. He was born September 26, 1933, in Rhodes, Greece, and had been a Yuba-Sutter resident for 60 years. He was a Science Teacher at Gray Avenue Middle School for 35 years as well as a farmer He is survived by his wife, Joanne Bakis of Yuba City; sons, Michael P. (Elizabeth) Bakis, and Peter D. Bakis both of Yuba City; brother, Manuel Bakis of Yuba City; sisters, Despina Tzevekos, and Chrisafina Diakakis both of Rhodes, Greece; and grandchildren, Phoenix and Weston Bakis of Yuba City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Despina and Panayotis Bakis. Visitation and Trisagion to be held April 11, 2023, at 4:30pm, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, Rev. Dr. Christopher Flesoras presiding. Funeral to be held on April 12, 2023, at 10:30am, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel followed by graveside services at Sutter Cemetery, Rev. Dr. Christopher Flesoras presiding. Memorial Donations may be made to St. Anna Greek Orthodox Christian Church, Roseville, CA.
