Obituary of Kathryne Lovon Pate

Kathryne Lovon Pate, of Yuba City, was born July 14, 1944, and passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the age of 78. Born in Little Rock, AR, Kathy was a resident of Sutter county for 44 years. Kathy spent 33 years as the Director of Noah's Ark Preschool, and was known fondly by many children whose lives she touched as Ms. Kathy. She was very involved in The United Pentecostal Church in various levels of service and ministry including Senior Ministry, Music Ministry and Nursery Ministry, and she loved her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. Kathy is survived by her husband, Derrell Pate, of Yuba City, CA; daughters, Sarah Waters (Randy Waters) of Gridley, CA, Lovon Tate (Bobby Tate) of Yuba City, CA, Charlene Jackson (Johnny Jackson) of Bowling Green, KY, and Susan Horton (David Horton) of Redding, CA; 3 sisters; 1 brother; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at the Sutter Cemetery in Sutter, CA, on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 2:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life and reception at The United Pentecostal Church, 2649 E. Onstott Road, Yuba City. Gifts of flowers can be sent to the Sutter Cemetery.
