Obituary of Delana Hogue

Delana was born in Seattle, Washington, to Darrell and Violet Day. They moved to Tunerville near Sutter, CA, in 1960. Delana moved to Lamoni, Iowa, her senior year in High School and graduated a Shamrock from West Harrison High School. While in Lamoni, she started a long career in Waitressing at the Pizza Shack. That followed up with Perko's in Yuba City, CA, after she moved along the way Delana followed in Darrell's and Dwight's footsteps and became a volunteer firefighter at Sutter Station of the Sutter County Fire Department. Delana was preceded in death by her father, Darrell. She is survived by her mother, Violet Day; brother and sisters, Dwight Day, Dianne Day, and Teresa Day; daughter and son, Emily Shires and Joshua Hogue; and her grandchildren, Payson Shires, Waylon Hogue, Dawson Hogue, Deacon Hogue, Watson Hogue. A celebration of life will be Sunday, June 11, 2023, 1pm, at the Harvest Room at 1465 Tharp Rd., Yuba City. There will be food and refreshments. Feel free to bring a potluck dish to share if you like. The service will be Tuesday, June 13, 2023, 1pm, at the Sutter Cemetery.
