Obituary of Sandy Courtney

Sandy Courtney, aka Sandy Morgan passed July 1, 2023. Sandy was born February 18, 1958, to Charlie and Patricia Courtney; who raised their two daughters in Yuba City, CA. While in school she met her lifelong best friend, Cindy. Cindy moved out of California when they were 20, but the two looked forward to annual trips to Las Vegas together until 2018, when Sandy could no longer make the trip. Sandy moved to Colusa in later years to raise her two children, Courtney and Chase. Sandy was a strong, independent woman who worked for Colusa County DHHS for 31 years and raised her children as a single mom. Sandy was a courageous mother and a fierce friend; she was loved by all who knew her. Many called her "Mom" and some called her "Sam." She was loyal confidant to all, who always had a listening ear and sound advice. Sandy started a battle with cancer in 2016, which led to her poor health and eventually her death. She is survived by her son, Chase, his wife, Dollee; her daughter, Courtney; and her three grandchildren, Cooper, Bo and Alexis. She is also survived by her mother, Patricia; and elder sister, Denice. She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie.
