Obituary of Gary Lee Schoessler
Gary Lee Schoessler, 76, of Yuba City, CA, peacefully passed away on July 24, 2023. Gary was born on October 23, 1946, in Portland, Oregon. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Schoessler of 57 years and their children: son, Kurt Schoessler (Joey) and grandson, Austin, daughter, Kristine Fitzgerald (Shawna) and granddaughter, Emery. Gary is also survived by his sister, Patricia Hall (Carl), 4 sisters-in-law and their children and their families. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Irene Schoessler, as well as his in-laws, Gerald and Gladys Ladley. After graduating college from San Francisco State University, Gary enjoyed a handful of careers. He worked as a postman in his early years, as well as owned a floor covering business. However, it was his trek into law enforcement and thereafter as the Director of Administration of Justice at Yuba Community College where Gary truly found his calling. After retirement, Gary followed a passion of his and operated his own rose pruning business where he was known to many as the "Rose Man." In his free time, Gary enjoyed reading, working in his rose garden, and quality time with his family and friends, especially his cherished grandchildren. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude for all the love and support during this time. A very special thank you to Sutter Home Care Hospice, Comfort Keepers, Yuba Sutter First Responders and Ullrey Memorial Chapel.
