Obituary of Bert L. Beiler

Bert L. Beiler passed away at age 87 years old, on June 23, 2023, peacefully in his sleep in Yuba City, CA. Bert was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne O. Beiler, April 14, 2009; and son, Dane E. Beiler, October 26, 2021. He is survived by his brother, Tim Erickson; sister, Paula Crauthers; and two daughters, Delanne E. Pruitt and Diana E. Beiler. Bert began his life on August 26, 1935, in Modesto, CA. At a young age, Bert knew that he wanted to be a doctor but that is not what he studied first. He became a pastor in 1958, in the faith of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. During this time, he met the love of his life, Joanne. They married in June 1959, and started a family; 2 kids Dane and Delanne. Although Bert believed in his faith, he felt being a pastor was not his calling. He then became a physical therapist but still knew this was not it. In 1969, Bert packed his family and went to Guadalajara, Mexico to study being a doctor. While in Mexico he worked at a clinic helping the Huichole Indians and he loved it. He knew he finally found his calling. Bert and Joanne adopted their 3rd child in Mexico, Diana. Their family was complete and they moved back to the States and Bert worked as a Medical doctor for 45 years. He moved around living in Texas, California, Oklahama and then back to California. Yuba City is where he built his home and practiced medicine. After family, he loved his work being a doctor. This showed as he worked until he was 82 years old. Through his faith and being a doctor, Bert touched many lives in the Yuba/Sutter community. Bert will be missed by many especially by his family. There is peace knowing he lived his dream and now is reunited with the love of his life. Memorial Service will be held on August 26, 2023, at 3:30pm at the Community Adventist Church, 1460 Richland Rd., Yuba City, CA 95991. Refreshments to be followed.
