Obituary of John Raymond Verkonski

John Raymond Verkonski, 80, of Yuba City, California, passed away August 18, 2023. John was born March 24, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, and had been a resident of the Yuba Sutter area for over 20 years. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years. Survivors include sons, Rory Verkonski and Craig Verkonski; daughters, Wendy Verkonski and Tina Savage; sisters, Ginger Lipp and Sandy Schneider; step-daughter, Holly Queener; step-son, Jason Queener; step-grandson, Justin Queener; step-daughter, Jennifer McClain; step-grandsons, Joshua Andress and Garrett Andress ; sister-in-law, Donna Knieriem; brother-in-laws, Jay Knieriem and Richard G. Bubb. He is preceded by his wife, Randi June Evenson; parents Joseph Verkonski and Estelle Chocola; brother, Gene Verkonski; step-brother, Lowell Chocola; sisters, Patricia Olszewski and Gloria Agate; step-sister, Claudette Wilkinson. Service will be Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 9:00 am at Sutter Cemetery, 7200 Butte Avenue, Sutter, CA 95982 In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Veterans Administration.
