In 1965, they moved to Yuba City, CA, where they expanded their family with one more child. Bertha and Rafael were married for 35 years before Rafael passed away in 1981. Fifteen years later she became a proud U.S citizen on July 3, 1996. Family was always the most important thing to Tita, she cared for and helped raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as if they were her own.
