Michael Tatro

Obituary of Michael Orion Tatro

Michael Orion "Mike" Tatro was born on August 3, 1942. He peacefully went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by his loving family at the age of 81, on November 4, 2023, at Enloe Medical Center in Chico, CA. His life started in Monterey Park, CA, then he moved to Oakridge, OR, and then to Dixon, CA, where he resided into his 20s. During that time, he began playing basketball, which led to a college scholarship and to the meeting of his first wife, Priscilla. They started a family, moving to the Yuba-Sutter area in 1969, and settling in Sutter. He then started his own hydraulic service and repair business, HESCO, which thrived throughout the '70s and '80s.
Mike met his wife Diana in 1981, and they were married for 41 years. Shortly after they were married, Mike owned and operated MJC Machine. He eventually returned to his farming roots and began managing Grounds Maintenance at Beale AFB for 15 years and subsequently worked at Botanica Landscapes. Since retiring, he enjoyed gardening, camping, and spending time reflecting and praying around his campfire. He was also involved in establishing three local churches. He found great joy studying the Bible, sharing the gospel, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Diana; sons, Jeff (Michele) Tatro and Chris (Jacquelyn) Tatro; daughters, Jill (Don) Abel and Jana (Jaime) Acosta; son, Marc (Angela) Evans; daughter, Allison (Brandon) De Young; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Bill Tatro. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Priscilla Tatro; parents, Orion and Mary Tatro; and newborn daughter, Carrie Tatro. Mike's legacy will be remembered forever by those who knew and loved him. His love for Christ and his infinite wealth of knowledge, both of which he freely shared, will be missed. Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not be faint." There will be a celebration of Mike's life at 2pm, on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at The Bridge Church, 1104 J Street, Marysville, CA 95901. All are welcome to attend. Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent in his name to Twin Cities Rescue Mission.
