Obituary of Patricia Ann Horne

Patricia was born in Crane, MO, on November 14, 1936, to Warren and Geneva Hays. She passed away on November 4, 2023, at Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento with her family at her side. Patricia came to California from Missouri at the age of two. She attended Linda Elementary and Alicia Intermediate schools. Patricia graduated from Marysville High School in 1954, with a lifetime CSF membership. She was a member of the Linda 4H club for eight years. In 1954, Patricia won the Yuba County 4H All Star and went to the conference in San Francisco. In 1954, Patricia married the love of her life, Bennie Horne. They raised their family in the Yuba City area. They were married for over 65 years until his passing in 2020. Patricia began her business career at Pacific Bell in Sacramento. She worked at Prudential Insurance in Marysville. She worked for the Social Security Administration for over 21 years. While at Social Security, she received numerous awards including the Commissioner's Award for excellent service. Patricia's family was the main focus of her life. She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to crochet, knit, sew, and read. She crocheted many afghans for family and friends and created many, many outfits and dresses (including prom dresses) for herself and her family. She also enjoyed traveling with Bennie in their RV, camping, growing vegetable gardens, watching their grandchildren and playing games with her family. Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Horne; and parents, Warren and Geneva Hays. She is survived by her four children, Kathleen (Gary) Dobyns, Michael (Rhonda) Horne, Deborah Horne, and Christina (Ian) Leff; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gary (Dolores) Hays. Per Patricia's request, there will be no services.
