Obituary of Doris M. Geyer

Doris M. Geyer, passed away at home on January 29, 2024, after a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 86. She was born May 17, 1937, in Reydon, Oklahoma, and resided in the twin-cities area for the last 48 years. Doris completed a Bachelor's of Arts Degree at CSU, Chico. She worked as a server for many years, supporting her family. She loved to spend time with family, her church family, and her many friends. She spent several years seeing the country in a motor home. Doris was a devout member and consistent volunteer at Crossroads Community Church where she was active in Prime Timers, Senior Trips, Precepts Bible Study and Children's Ministry. She supported outreach activities such as the Clothes Closet and Joshua House. Doris remained faithful even when her health continued to fail. She was a consistent volunteer and past Senior Regent, at the Yuba City Moose lodge 1204, Academy of Friendship, and College of Regents member. Doris is survived by her husband, Dan Lunetta; three children, Jenny Francis, Bill Smith, and Jonell Kosa; grandchildren, Caralee Mann, Darian Kosa, Jonathan Kosa, and Bella Smith; great-grandchildren, Lance Sanders, Devan Davis, Zaccari Matteoli, and Lucian Kosa. Doris was preceded in death by her father, Aaron Duke; her mother, Myrtle Duke (Clay); brothers, Roy and Bill Duke; sister, Genevieve Laib; grandchild, Jennifer Mann; and her husband, Dave Geyer. Doris touched many lives and he will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 10 am at Crossroads Community Church, Yuba City, with a reception to follow.
